About one year ago, I heard about a rapper named Kyle. Some friends recommended the song ‘Keep It Real’ to me. It wasn’t that song that caught me on his talent, but it gave me a taste of his potential as a musician. I downloaded his album ‘Beautiful Loser’ and while it was playing in the background as I was destroying the competition in Mario Kart, I paused the game and listened a little closer to the song ‘This Is A Hit’ the guitar riff rhythm completely indulged me in the music and I knew this guy was good by then. Fast-forward another year, I own the album on vinyl, CD, have two different posters in my room and a t-shirt that I constantly get harassed about because it just says the word ‘KYLE’ on the back. This would sound super creepy if I didn’t care about music as much as I do and if I didn’t mention my wall is covered in posters and just about every t-shirt I own has a musician or a band on it.
Beautiful Loser came out on August 5, 2013. A perfect summer album which was released correctly in the early month of August but not so much due to the amount of highly anticipated albums that came out that summer. Yeezus - Kanye, Watching Movies With The Sound Off - Mac, Born Sinner - Cole, Doris - Earl, Nothing Was The Same - Drake. With enormous names like that still searching to all share the spotlight, there just wasn’t enough room for SuperDuper Kyle. Since Beautiful Loser, Kyle has consistently put out new music, from ‘Don’t Wanna Fall In Love’ which samples Jane Child’s song of the same title, ‘King Wavy’ which features frequent collaborator G-Eazy and ‘Wait On Me’ which is an ode to Kyle’s late grandfather.
Kyle was also recently featured on The Social Experiment’s debut Surf, which you can read about here:

it's understandable if you can't hear 'Don't Wanna Be Cool' because you're at work or school or someplace where people hate good music but otherwise listen to it because Kyle made the entire track. It wasn't even necessarily bars as it was complete truth.
Kyle is a 22-year old rapper from Ventura, California and he is blowing up fast. Where as in 2008 where Cudi blew up for being "a voice who spoke of vulnerabilities and other human emotions", Kyle is a voice for the people who want to be happy. A voice who through all that negative bullshit, they fight to stay positive. And that is something worth appreciating.
